H13 can also be utilized in clear paintings applications because of its general hardness and longevity.
H13 is a chromium molybdenum hot work metallic well known for its first rate warm hardness and abrasion resistance, making it ideal for a variety of hot work applications.

Heat Treatment of H-13 Die Steel:
Hardening:
Preheat at 650 ° C- 850 ° C and raise to 1020 ° C.-1050 °C.Cool in air, oil or salt tub held at 500 ° C-550 ° C after which cool in air. For warm paintings applications, H13 is used in the hardness range of HRC 38 to 48. The standard hardness range for die casting dies is HRC 44 to 48 requiring a mood at approximately 1100°F. For improved surprise resistance, the metallic is often tempered at temperatures drawing near 1150°F, ensuing in hardnesses of HRC 40 t0 44.
Forging: h13 metallic composition,h13 steel composition,h13 steel composition,h13 metal composition.Forge at 900° C to 1100° C. Cool slowly and anneal right away.
Annealing: Anneal at 850° C-870° C.Cool slowly in furnace.
Temper: Double tempering encouraged at 500° C-650° C cool in air.
