Properties:

Strength: EN19 has good ductility and a high tensile strength, particularly when properly heated.

Machinability: It can be machined rather well, however heat treatment after welding may be necessary.

Weldability: EN19 can be welded, however care must be taken; pre- and post-weld heat treatments are frequently required.

• Manganese (Mn): 0.50% – 0.80%
• Phosphorus (P): 0.025% max
• Sulfur (S): 0.025% max

Properties:

Strength: C45 has a strong hardness and tensile strength.

Machinability: Excellent machinability is exhibited by it when it is in its normalised or hot rolled state.

Weldability: C45 can be welded, however care must be given to prevent cold cracking.

Properties:

Strength: EN8 has a strong toughness and tensile strength.

Machinability: Its machinability ranges from fair to good.

Weldability: Although EN8 can be welded, care must be taken to prevent cold cracking.
